Any confirmed reservation at Hôtel Le Grillon constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions.

1. Booking Conditions

A reservation is considered firm and final upon receipt of:

  • written confirmation by email or post; and
  • a credit card number provided as a guarantee, where requested.

Rates quoted at the time of booking are based on the information provided by the guest. The hotel reserves the right to adjust the rate if the number of guests or the length of the stay is subsequently changed.

The hotel cannot guarantee a specific room number. The room category confirmed at the time of booking will be provided, subject to the specific conditions applicable to the reservation.

Rooms are available from 3:00 pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11:00 am on the day of departure.

2. Cancellation and No-Show

Individual Reservations

Any full or partial cancellation must be notified to the hotel:

  • at least 24 hours before the arrival date;
  • or at least 7 days before arrival during the Strasbourg Christmas Market period.

More than 24 hours before arrival — or more than 7 days during the Christmas Market period: no cancellation fee.

Less than 24 hours before arrival — or less than 7 days during the Christmas Market period: 100% of the cancelled stay will be charged.

In the event of a no-show or cancellation without prior notice, 100% of the total amount of the reserved stay will be charged.

Group Reservations

Group reservations are defined as reservations for 10 or more people.

The following cancellation conditions apply:

  • up to 56 days before arrival: no charge;
  • 55 to 15 days before arrival: 25% of the total stay;
  • 14 to 7 days before arrival: 50% of the total stay;
  • 6 to 3 days before arrival: 80% of the total stay;
  • less than 3 days before arrival or in the event of a no-show: 100% of the total stay.

3. Force Majeure

In the event of force majeure or exceptional circumstances preventing Hôtel Le Grillon from accommodating the guest at the hotel, the hotel may, where possible, offer alternative accommodation in a nearby establishment of an equivalent category.

4. Payment

All invoices are issued and payable exclusively in euros (€).

The credit card number provided at the time of booking is requested solely as a guarantee, unless specific payment conditions are stated at the time of booking.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment is made upon departure or upon receipt of the invoice.

The following payment methods are accepted:

  • cash;
  • credit or debit card;
  • French holiday vouchers (Chèques-Vacances).

5. Services and Additional Charges

Breakfast

A continental breakfast is served in the hotel’s designated breakfast area.

Rates:

  • €13.00 per person aged 7 and over;
  • free for children under 7.

The hotel does not provide lunch, dinner or packed meals.

Security Deposit

For group reservations of more than 10 people, the hotel reserves the right to request a security deposit of €15.00 per person.

6. Pets

Dogs are accepted only upon prior request and subject to the hotel’s approval, subject to the following conditions:

  • one dog per room;
  • maximum weight of 25 kg.

A supplement of €4.50 per day applies, excluding food.

Certain room categories cannot accommodate pets. Guests must therefore inform the hotel of the presence of a pet when making their reservation.

Dogs are not permitted in the breakfast room.

The owner agrees to:

  • keep the dog on a lead within the hotel;
  • clean up after the dog;
  • assume full responsibility for any damage or deterioration caused by the animal.

Any damage will be charged to the animal’s owner.

The hotel reserves the right to refuse access to any animal whose behaviour or accommodation conditions are incompatible with the safety or comfort of guests and staff.

7. Tourist Tax

A tourist tax of €1.87 per person per day applies to guests aged 18 and over, according to the applicable rate in force for the stay.

8. VAT

All prices are inclusive of VAT (all taxes included), according to the VAT rates applicable on the date of the stay.

9. Complaints

Any complaint relating to a stay should first be submitted to Hôtel Le Grillon in writing so that the hotel can review the matter and seek an amicable solution.

10. Consumer Mediation

After first submitting a written complaint to Hôtel Le Grillon, the guest may, subject to the applicable eligibility conditions, refer the matter free of charge to the Tourism and Travel Mediation Service (Médiation Tourisme et Voyage – MTV).

The mediator may be contacted following a negative response or no response within 60 days, and the referral must be made within 12 months of the initial written complaint submitted to the hotel.

11. Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions
